Medicare and All-on-4® Implants: A Program That Could Help You Save
At Smiles for Life Dental Care, we have always worked hard to provide our patients with the most advanced and effective treatments using state-of-the-art technology at costs they could afford. Now, as part of the 1 percent of dentists in the United States who are also certified Medicare providers, Dr. Joe McIntyre is proud to offer a program that will help to make full-arch All-on-4® dental implants more affordable to many of our patients. Through this new program, certain Medicare plans will now cover some of the cost of full-arch All-on-4® dental implants.
Dr. McIntyre is one of the few dentists in the state of Virginia who is both credentialed to treat Medicare patients and who has a proven history of helping patients use their Medicare insurance under Medical Necessary provisions for dental implants. In discussing Medicare and All-on-4® costs during consultations at our Harrisonburg, VA cosmetic, restorative, and general dentistry practice, Dr. McIntyre informs patients that using their Medicare benefits can significantly lower their out-of-pocket expenses. In some cases, Medicare will cover up to 50 percent of the cost of All-on-4® treatment.
Do you have Medicare insurance? Are you missing one or more of your natural teeth? If you answered “yes” to both of these questions, then we strongly encourage you to schedule your initial consultation with Dr. Joe McIntyre at Smiles for Life Dental Care today.
Making the Most of Your Benefits
At Smiles for Life Dental Care, we strive to help you make the most of your benefits. In many cases, that means using your dental insurance. In some cases, that means going through a third-party credit company such as CareCredit®. We are particularly excited about this program because Medicare does not generally cover “dental issues.” However, Medicare may cover oral surgery that it deems medically necessary, assuming that it meets its Medical Necessity requirements. If you require full-arch All-on-4® dental implants due to the following issues, then you may be eligible for partial coverage for your treatment by Medicare:
- Jaw inflammation
- Bone resorption
- Inability to chew food
As in any other case, we will help you make the most of your benefits and ensure that Medicare is the right path for you to take before you proceed with your treatment. The chances are good that your savings will be substantial if you are eligible for coverage from Medicare.
Am I Automatically Covered for All-on-4® As a Medicare Recipient?
No - it is very important that you understand that you are not automatically covered as not all Medicare plans are the same. Virginia offers many Medicare insurance plans, and not all plans will cover dental implant surgery. If you are not covered by your current plan, we will advise you of such and help you decide upon a plan that does offer such coverage. You can change your Medicare coverage once a year.
