This past April, Dr. McIntyre and his wife Becky had their lives changed forever when they traveled to Haiti to provide free dental care to children in need through the non-profit organization Helping Haitian Angels. This October they will be returning to Haiti again to donate all the dental care they can for the orphans in the Kay Anj Village.
Unfortunately, the McIntyres were very limited in the care that they could provide to these children in April due to the lack of proper equipment. They had no chairs, x-ray machine, or sterilization equipment. Even their dental cart was 60 years old. Becky and Dr. McIntyre have purchased a dental cart out of their own pocket to donate to the dental clinic in Haiti, but the clinic is still in desperate need of equipment—especially an x-ray machine.
Smiles for Life hopes to raise $5,000 in order to purchase a new x-ray machine for the dental clinic in the Kay Anj Village. To accomplish our goal, we will be participating in the Bridgewater Yard Sale on Saturday, September 24th. Our office will be selling goods on a donation basis, and 100% of the money we raise will go toward the x-ray machine.
That’s why we need your help! In order to raise enough money, we are asking anyone who is able to donate items to contribute to our yard sale. Please bring by any items in good condition that you want to donate to our office at 115 Oakwood Drive in Bridgewater, Virginia, and help us reach our goal! Having an x-ray machine for the clinic will dramatically improve the level of care that we can provide to these children.
If you are unable to contribute to the yard sale, please consider dropping off a gently used backpack at our office instead! The school in the Kay Anj Village is asking for backpacks in good shape to give to the kids of the school. Any backpacks brought to our office will be taken to Haiti by the McIntyres when they travel back in October.
