Dr. McIntyre and Dr. Whiting love their job! He also loves learning and improving his skills; so he is always taking courses from the top professionals across the country. When you’re in our doctor’s chair, you actually have a good time! However, the most important person in our Bridgewater office is you! We really care about every individual patient and take the time to get to know you, listen to you, and focus on your dental concerns and desires.
Our doctor has a vested interest in our community because he is raising his family here and loves all the wonderful benefits of living in the Shenandoah Valley. To give back to the community, Dr. McIntyre volunteers at the “Mission of Mercy” dental program in Wytheville, Virginia, participates in the Children’s Dental Health Day in Harrisonburg, VA, and takes Dental Emergency Call for Rockingham Memorial Hospital. Dr. McIntyre also co-authors a weekly column “Tooth Talk” in the Daily News Record newspaper as a public service to provide information on the various aspects of dentistry.
Dr. McIntyre grew up on a turkey farm in Roseville, California before attending Brigham Young University and earning a bachelor’s degree in zoology. He then went to the University of California San Francisco Dental School and graduated with his DDS in 1982. Dr Mac loves being a dentist and has enjoyed all the wonderful friendships with his patients over the past 25 years.
After meeting Becky at BYU, they married in 1976 and have six children, three girls and three boys, and eight adorable grandchildren. For 18 years, Becky enjoyed being a full time Mom with the children. In 1997, she graduated from Dental Hygiene School and now works alongside her husband and Dr. Ange in the practice.
Dr McIntyre enjoys spending his free time with the family traveling, camping, fishing, (especially fishing!!), and woodworking. He volunteers with the Boy Scouts and is proud to say that all three of his sons earned their Eagle Scout Award. He also enjoys watching his children participate in extra-curricular activities like sports, ballet, and drama. Helping his kids work on their first home and playing with the grandkids keeps Dr. Mac young and happy.
